Do I need to download an app?
Many features of the Doppler requires Wi-Fi to function so the Doppler must connect to your Wi-Fi network. The phone app is required to initially configure your Doppler and connect it to the internet. After that the app is not necessary and can be deleted from your phone if you’d prefer!

How do I order the USB-C ports?
After the campaign is finished we will send out a Backerkit survey, this survey will include the USB-C port add-on board that you can purchase. We wanted to keep the reward levels as clean as possible so things didn’t get too confusing. We are still finalizing pricing on these boards, but they will be under $30.

What if the power goes out?
The Sandman Doppler features an internal rechargeable battery backup so when the power in your house goes out the Doppler’s alarm will still go off. There is no battery for you to install or replace!

We do too! We would love to be able to ship your Doppler tomorrow, but sadly they aren’t ready yet. We have to finish up the software and make expensive injection molding tools to be able to make the Doppler at scale. Make sure to check out the Original Sandman if you’re impatient!

Of course! The Doppler can display the time in either 12 or 24-hour format.

What if I live in Europe?
The Doppler features an internal dual voltage power supply. This means it will work worldwide of 110 or 220-volt power. We will supply the proper plug for your country as well. Just plug in the Doppler and it will work!

What about Quick-Charge?
The Doppler does not feature Quick-Charge. We wanted to go with a universal format and Quick-Charge hasn’t and won’t be universally adopted. Your Quick-Charge compatible phone will still charge fine (and at high-speed) it just won’t be as fast as some other chargers. Usually, the Doppler is used to charge your phone overnight so you’ll still have plenty of charge!

Is the Doppler always listening to me?
A few seconds of what is picked up by the microphones will be analyzed by the Doppler and discarded permanently unless the wake word “Alexa” is detected. The Doppler never saves anything it hears permanently. Also, nothing is transmitted unless a wake word is detected. When you say “Alexa”, your command is sent to Amazon’s servers via a secure connection and a response is sent back securely. If Alexa is turned off or if the mute button is pressed, nothing is listening, and nothing will be stored or analyzed.

How do I listen to FM radio?
The Doppler doesn’t have a true FM radio chip inside, but you’ll be able to listen to many FM radio stations via apps like Tunein and iHeart radio.

Will it blind me in the middle of the night?
Absolutely not! The Doppler will automatically dim at night and the user can adjust how dim it gets. It can even be set to have the display off completely so you can sleep in total darkness.

Does it have multiple alarms?
Yes, the Doppler can store multiple alarms which are managed by the App. Additional alarms can also be set via Alexa.

BackerKit is a service that crowdfunded project creators use to keep track of hundreds to tens of thousands of backers—from shipping details, pledge levels, preferences and quantities, whether they have paid or had their card declined, special notes, and everything in between!
The BackerKit software and support team is independent from the campaign’s project team—BackerKit does not handle the actual reward shipping. For more information about the preparation or delivery status of your rewards, please check the project's updates page.
How does BackerKit work?
After the campaign ends, the project creator will send you an email with a unique link to your survey. You can check out a walkthrough of the process here.
I never received my invitation. How do I complete the survey?
The most common reasons for not receiving a survey email is that you may be checking an email inbox different from the email address you used to sign up with Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account, or it may be caught in your spam filter.
Confirm that the email address you are searching matches the email address tied to your Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or Tilt Pro account. If that doesn’t work, then try checking your spam, junk or promotions folders. You can also search for "backerkit” in your inbox.
To resend the survey to yourself, visit the project page and input the email address associated with your Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account.
How do I update my shipping address?
BackerKit allows you to update your shipping address until the shipping addresses are locked by the project creator. To update your address, go back to your BackerKit survey by inputting your email here.
When will my order be shipped, charged or locked?
That is handled directly by the project creator. BackerKit functions independently of the project itself, so we do not have control of their physical shipping timeline. If you want to check on the project’s status, we recommend reading over the project's updates page.
I completed the survey, but haven't received my rewards yet. When will they arrive?
As BackerKit does not actually handle any rewards or shipping, the best way to stay updated on the shipping timeline would be to check out the project's updates page.
